Have you heard of these people? Freegans search dumpsters for food that grocery stores have thrown out. That’s how they eat. It’s amazing the food they find and their statement against consumerism is admirable. I like sustainable living.
But something seems off, though. I once had coffee with a homeless man, who was digging in a dumpster–for survival. I’m on the fence on this one. I understand that freegans care about how much food is going to waste but it seems that perhaps they could make a stronger point with a different effort.

Perhaps they have more time to advocate for sustainable food because they don’t need to spend as much time working for food or for consumer items that they don’t really need. This could be just a small part of the effort.
